For the Cabbage Rolls:
– 1 large head of green cabbage
– 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of ground beef and pork)
– 1 cup cooked rice
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 1 egg
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
—
#### 1. **Prepare the Cabbage**
Start by removing the outer leaves from the cabbage. You’ll need about 12-14 leaves for the rolls. To make the leaves pliable, carefully cut out the tough stem at the base of each leaf. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves by submerging them in the water for 2-3 minutes, or until they soften. Carefully remove the leaves and let them cool.
2. **Make the Filling**
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or beef-pork mixture), cooked rice, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix everything together until well combined.
