**Is Your Sofa Dirty and Stained? Here’s the Trick to Clean It Thoroughly**
Here’s the trick to getting your sofa looking and smelling like new again!
### **Step 1: Check the Care Label**
– **W**: Water-based cleaning is safe.
– **S**: Solvent-based cleaning (like rubbing alcohol or dry cleaning solvent) is required.
– **WS**: Both water and solvent-based cleaning are suitable.
– **X**: Professional cleaning or vacuuming is recommended (avoid water or solvents).
Knowing this will ensure you don’t damage your sofa while cleaning it.
The first step in any deep cleaning process is to remove dust, dirt, and debris. Use a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment to carefully vacuum the entire surface of your sofa. Don’t forget the crevices, under the cushions, and between the seat cushions, where crumbs and dirt often hide.

Mix a solution of warm water and mild dish soap. Dampen a soft cloth with the solution and gently blot the stain. Avoid rubbing, as it can push the stain deeper into the fabric. Once the stain is gone, blot with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap residue, then let it air dry.
2. **For Oil-Based Stains (S or WS symbol):**
For oil or grease stains, use a solvent-based cleaner (such as rubbing alcohol or dry cleaning solvent). Dampen a cloth with the solvent and blot the stain. Again, be gentle to avoid pushing the stain into the fabric. Once clean, blot with a dry cloth to remove excess solvent.
### **Step 4: Clean the Entire Surface**
Once your sofa is free of visible stains, it’s time to clean the entire surface. Depending on the fabric care label and your preference, you can use one of the following methods:
