8. Plastic food containers
Plastic containers are convenient, lightweight, and widely used for storing leftovers. However, some plastics can release chemicals when exposed to heat, such as in the microwave or dishwasher.
Even products labeled “BPA-free” may contain other compounds that behave similarly at high temperatures. Over time, repeated heating can increase the transfer of these substances into food.
A simple adjustment can make all the difference. Avoid reheating food directly in plastic containers. Instead, transfer your dishes to glass, ceramic, or stainless steel dishes before reheating. These materials are stable, durable, and easy to clean.

A house that smells good is more welcoming. Unfortunately, many deodorants and scented sprays contain synthetic fragrances that linger in the air.
Aeration is often the simplest solution. Opening the windows regularly, even for a few minutes, can cool a room. Houseplants, good ventilation and the moderate use of natural fragrance diffusers also help to create a comfortable atmosphere without attacking the senses.
