How to Find and Clean It (General Steps):
-
Prepare for Water: Place a shallow tray, baking dish, or several old towels directly under the panel. A significant amount of stagnant water will drain out when you open the filter cover.
-
Open the Panel and Remove the Filter: Open the small door. You will see a round, knurled plastic cap (the filter). Slowly unscrew it counterclockwise. Let the water drain into your container. Pull the filter out completely.
-
-
Rinse the filter under running water to remove lint and debris. Use an old toothbrush for stubborn grime.
-
Check the filter housing inside the machine for any trapped objects (coins, buttons) and remove them.
-
-
Reinstall the Filter: Insert the clean filter back into its slot and screw it in clockwise until it is snug. Do not overtighten. Close the access panel door securely.
⚠️ Critical Note on Models:
-
Some Top-Loaders (especially in North America): The lint filter is often built into the agitator or located around the top of the washer tub. Check your user manual.
-
Always Consult the Manual: The location and removal process can vary. Your manual is the definitive source for your specific model.
