Durbin went on to condemn a controversial FBI raid in Fulton County, Georgia, during which hundreds of thousands of ballots from the 2020 election were seized. He cited reports alleging Trump personally ordered national intelligence leadership to direct the operation — a move Durbin described as completely inappropriate for a president to intervene in a domestic criminal investigation.
“And now, his endgame for 2026 has become clear: he’s working to rewrite the rules of the game and rig the system to ensure he maintains his grip on power,” Durbin said, asserting that Trump and his allies are trying to systematically alter elections.
