Reality TV vet arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife

Only later did authorities reveal the name at the center of the case: 39-year-old Caleb Flynn — a former American Idol contestant who had since presented himself as a devout Christian. According to investigators, he fatally shot his 37-year-old wife, Ashley, inside their Tipp City, Ohio home while their children slept nearby.

Prosecutors allege that he used a 9mm handgun and then attempted to stage the crime scene in an effort to deceive law enforcement. He has been charged with murder, two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $2 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court again in the coming days.
