Two hundred U.S. Marines are heading to Florida, and they’re not going to war or deploying to a distant battlefield overseas. Instead, they are being assigned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers across the state. According to the Pentagon, their mission is strictly administrative and logistical in nature. Officials say the Marines will handle paperwork, assist with supply movement, manage internal logistics, and support the operational structure of the facilities. They will not carry out arrests, conduct immigration raids, or participate in law enforcement actions.
