Chairman N. Chandrasekaran expressed the airline’s sorrow:
“With profound sorrow, I confirm that Air India Flight AI171 has been involved in a tragic accident. Our deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones. Our immediate focus is supporting rescue operations and providing every possible assistance.”
