A Sudden Inferno

According to early reports from local authorities, the fire started shortly after 2:30 p.m. in a mixed-use commercial and residential block. Witnesses say they first noticed a loud explosion-like sound, followed by thick smoke pouring from the upper floors of a building that housed shops on the ground level and apartments above.

“I was walking down the street when I heard what sounded like a boom,” said Maria Lopez, who works in a nearby café. “Within minutes, the entire building looked like it was on fire. People were screaming and running in every direction.”

Within moments, flames spread rapidly, fueled by strong winds and highly flammable materials inside the structure. The fire leapt from one building to another, creating a domino effect that quickly overwhelmed the area.
