After seeing the posted images online, both mothers contacted the Volusia Sheriff’s Office and acknowledged their sons were in the video, leading to their surrender.

In a post on social media, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office confirmed the boys confessed to breaking into the school and vandalizing the media center, including returning at night to cause additional destruction.

According to investigators, the pair initially entered the school during daytime hours and then came back later to observe their earlier damage and escalate it further.

The sheriff’s office released a statement summarizing the bizarre sequence of events, emphasizing that both minors “confessed to the incident,” which devastated the library’s interior.

As a result of their actions, each boy has been charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, trespassing on school grounds, criminal mischief, and theft, all serious charges given the extent of the damage.
