Age and Its Role in Twin Births
Age is another interesting factor. While fertility generally declines with age, women in their late 30s and early 40s may actually have a slightly higher chance of conceiving twins due to hormonal changes.
However, pregnancies beyond age 50 are extremely rare and usually involve assisted reproductive technologies and close medical supervision. A twin pregnancy at 58 is therefore considered highly unusual from a medical standpoint.
Lifestyle and Environmental Factors
Some research suggests that certain lifestyle factors may have a mild influence on twin pregnancies. These may include diet, body weight, and levels of specific growth-related hormones.
However, these links are not definitive, and more research is needed.
