**5 Things Not to Do with Guava: Avoid These Common Mistakes**
### 1. **Don’t Peel It (If You Don’t Have To)**
One of the most common mistakes people make when preparing guava is peeling it. While it’s true that the skin of some varieties can be a bit tough, it’s also where much of the fruit’s nutritional value is concentrated. The skin is rich in fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C. Instead of peeling guava, consider eating it with the skin on, especially when it’s ripe and tender. The skin adds a slight tang and crunch, and you get the added health benefits as well. If you prefer not to eat the skin, make sure to use the entire fruit (including seeds) in smoothies or jams where the skin won’t be a problem.
